A spokesperson for EPUKI commented:
“We are delighted that we have been successful in the most recent T-4 auction ensuring that we can continue to make our contribution to security of supply for Northern Ireland and beyond. The results also further consolidate our plans to develop the Kilroot Energy Park including a range of lower carbon and renewable technologies on the Kilroot site. The new flexible open cycle units will support the transition towards low carbon policy targets as well as protecting security and stability of supply for Northern Ireland through the continuation of indigenous, dispatchable and flexible generation.’’
