MIBRAG Doubles Solar Capacity with 43 MW PV Peres West I

December 16, 2024: MIBRAG, a subsidiary of EP Power Europe, has commissioned PV Peres West I, its third photovoltaic plant. Built on a recultivated area of the Vereinigtes Schleenhain open-cast mine, located south of Leipzig, the plant will provide 43 MW of solar energy, primarily for MIBRAG’s own electricity supply. PV Peres West I will generate enough electricity to support the equivalent of 16,000 households annually.

With the commissioning of Peres West I, MIBRAG has more than doubled its existing solar power capacity, reaching a total output of approximately 80 MWp.  PV Peres West I is designed for a lifespan of 30 years and was developed in collaboration with LEAG Renewables.

We are proud to have finalized another solar project in Germany as part of our mission to transform former mining sites into sources of green energy,” said Tomáš David, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of EP Power Europe, who is responsible for renewable energy across the broader EP Group.
